Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to a website every visitor can use, whatever their abilities or assistive technology.
Last updated
A website about finding a home should be usable by everyone who wants one. This statement describes what we have built into the site for accessibility, the standard we hold ourselves to, where we currently fall short, and how to tell us when something does not work for you, which we genuinely want to hear.
The standard we work to
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA as our working target. Accessibility is considered when we design new pages, not retrofitted after complaints.
We check our work with keyboard only navigation, with screen readers and at high zoom levels, on desktop and mobile, and with automated tools where they help. No process catches everything, which is why the feedback address below matters.
What is built in
The site is designed to be navigable by keyboard, with visible focus indicators and skip links. Headings are structured for screen readers, meaningful images carry alternative text, and colour is not the only carrier of information. We aim for AA contrast throughout and for text that resizes to 200 per cent without loss of function.
Forms are labelled, errors are described in text rather than colour alone, and nothing on the site flashes, autoplays with sound, or imposes time limits on reading.
- Keyboard navigation with visible focus
- Screen reader friendly headings and landmarks
- Alternative text on meaningful images
- AA colour contrast and 200% text resize as our target
- Labelled forms with text based error messages
Known limitations
Honesty requires a list of what is not yet right. Some older property photographs lack fully descriptive alternative text, and we are working through the archive. Third-party embeds, maps in particular, do not always meet our own standard, and we push our providers on this while looking for better ones.
PDF documents supplied by developers are sometimes scanned images rather than accessible text; where a client needs one, we will read it with you or provide the content another way.
If any of these limitations blocks you, contact us and a colleague will provide the same information in a format that works for you, by phone, email or plain document.
Beyond the website
Accessibility does not end at the screen. Viewing trips are planned around mobility needs when you tell us about them, and we will happily preview a property’s practical accessibility, covering steps, thresholds and bathroom layouts, before you travel.
Our written material can be provided in larger print or as accessible documents on request, and phone or video appointments replace anything the website makes difficult.
Tell us what is not working
If something on this site does not work with your assistive technology or gets in your way, email hello@ordently.com with the page and, if you can, what you were using. A person reads these, and fixes are prioritised by impact rather than by effort.
We aim to respond quickly and to fix genuine barriers as soon as we reasonably can. This statement is reviewed regularly.

Questions about this policy?
A person, not a form letter, reads and answers every message. We are happy to explain any part of this page in plain language.
